Autumn/Winter beauty essentials!

when the weather starts to get colder and the nights draw in there are certain beauty products i can't live without. I love this time of the year but i dont like what it does to my skin and hair. so i thought i would share with you the products that get me through the chiller months.

Hand cream - i'm really bad for leaving the house without gloves so i find my hands can get dry and chapped. Hand cream helps to restore the moisture i have lost and helps soothe them when there feeling sore. My favourite hand cream has to be soap and glory's hand food, it smells amazing and does a brillant job.

lip balm- in the winter my lips get so sore and tend to crack, im a lover of matt lispsticks and these two things just don't go together! i tend to apply lipbalm before applying lipstick and then top it up during the day when my lips start to feel dry. My favourite lip balms are Avon's Royal jelly lip treatment  ( which I mentioned on my YouTube channel in my Avon haul) and Elizabeth Arden's 8 hour cream.

Face cream -  the cold wind tends to leave my face feeling tight and dry so I make sure I use a good face cream twice a day. A face cream I've been loving at the moment is Garnier's soft essentials 24hr hydrating day cream. It's really moisturising without feeling too heavy.

These are the products I can't live without in the Autumn/Winter months. What are your essentials for this time of year?

5 tips for clearer skin!

Hi guys here are some tips to help you towards clearer skin! They defiantly helped my skin and I hope they will help yours too! Little disclaimer I'm not saying these tips will make your skin pixel perfect but they might help, everyone's skin is different so I can't say for definite you will see a change. But never the less I hope you enjoy this post.

Tip 1// always take your makeup off at night - leaving your makeup on overnight can cause havoc to your skin . Your skin needs time to breathe and the makeup can block your pores leading to spots, blackheads etc

Tip 2// make sure you wash your makeup brushes regularly- makeup brushes can be a breeding ground for bacteria and this can cause infections and can cause your skin to breakout

Tip 3// keep hydrated! It's amazing the difference I see my skin when I drink plenty of water. When I feel dehydrated my skin does too.

Tip 4// Eat clean - having a healthy and balanced diet can help keep your skin at bay. Everything is fine in moderation but too much fatty and sugary foods can lead to breakouts

Tip 5// Always remember the spf - keeping your skin protected from the sun is so important it's helps against premature aging and stops your skin from drying out. It's so easy to do as many moisturisers and foundations contain spf.

I hope you've enjoyed this post and find these tips helpful will be back soon guys xoxo

The beauty TAG!

Hi guys I saw a few bloggers have done this tag and I thought it would be fun to give it a go! So let's get to it.

1// Do you remember your first makeup item?

Honestly as a little girl I had lots of play makeup and as I got older I pinched some of my mums. I remember using a powder foundation and mascara when I first started wearing makeup properly but I can't remember what brands they were.

2// Describe your perfect mascara. Have you found one that fits your specifications?

I love a mascara that makes my lashes look really long and dark. I hate when mascaras flake and smudge so it would have to be one that stays put. Benefit have some amazing mascaras and I would say roller lash fits the bill.

3// what kind of coverage do you prefer from foundation?

I prefer a medium to heavy coverage as if it's to light I don't find it lasts the day.

4// Favourite high end brand?

I love Benefit I am yet to be disappointed by on of there products and there packaging is so cute!

5// What cosmetic brand have you always wanted to try but still haven't?

Chanel and hourglass, there products look amazing and I've heard such good things about them.

6//  Favouite drugstore brand

Ah there's so many! If I had to choose one id say Rimmel. There products are so affordable and
Such great quality.

7// Do you wear fake eyelashes?

Not so much now but I did wear them every weekend back in my clubbing days!

8// is there any kind of makeup you can't leave the house without?

I rarely leave the house without a full face of makeup. The only exception is if I'm going to the spa or swimming. If I had to choose one item I would say foundation I'm so pale without it.

9// what is you most cherished beauty product?

Probably my sleek contour palette it just transforms your face.

10// How often do you shop for makeup? Do you like to pick up an item here and there or get lots of goodies at once?

It depends I do love a haul every now and again! But generally I pick up my holy grail products and a few newbies accidentally fall into my basket.

11//  Do you have a "beauty budget" or spend freely?

I'm trying to budget generally as my boyfriend and I are saving to move out but I just treat myself now and again. I don't have a set budget for beauty.

12// Do you utilize coupons, reward cards and sales when you shop for cosmetics?

I try my best to! I always use my Superdrug and Boots cards when I shop there.

13//  What type of product do you buy the most of?

Lipsticks, I love Matt lipsticks particularly and I'm still trying to find " the one"

14// Is there a brand that you absolutely can't stand?

I'm not a huge fan of bare minerals none of there products have wowed me

15// Do you avoid certain ingredients in cosmetics like parbens or sulfates?

I can't say I do maybe I should start watching out for them.

16// Do you have a favourite place to shop for makeup?

Superdrug or boots for drugstore products or if I'm having a splurge probably Debenhams.

17// Do you like trying new skincare products or do you keep a certain routine?

I like trying new products but I always go back to my holy grail skin care products. I can't find any face moisturizer that is as good as Nivea soft! Even high end products like Clarins haven't compared.

18// Favourite bath and body brand?

I love soap and glory my collection is forever growing and I do love a lush bath bomb.

19// if you could only buy from one brand, which brand would you choose

Benefit I love there products, I've highly rated every product I've used of there's so I wouldn't mind only using there products.

20// What brand do you think has the best packaging?

As I said earlier I love Benefit packaging, its so pretty and I do love how chic Mac makeup looks.

21// Which Celeb always has great makeup?

Cheryl and any of the Kardashians

22// Do you belong to any online makeup communities

I belong to a Facebook group called Mrs gloss and the goss and it's brilliant.

23// Do you like multinational products like lip and cheek stains?

Not really i think there more of a gimmick than anything and you end up using them on either one or the other.

24//Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?

i like to think ive got better but if i'm a rush sometimes my makeup goes pear shaped!

25// Do you use makeup base/primer for your eyes?

i use the Urban Decay primer potion its keeps my eye makeup in place all day and night.

26//How many hair products do you use on a typical day?

Depends on the style of my hair usually i use a Tresseme heat protection spray and an Elvive hair oil.

27//What do you apply first foundation or concealer

I always apply foundation first because it somewhat covers your imperfections, you then you can judge how much and where concealer is really needed.

28//Do you ever consider taking makeup classes?

Defiantly i would love to learn more about Makeup!

29//  What do you love about makeup?

I love how confident it can make you feel. i love how you can accentuate your best features and hide your least favorites

I hope you enjoyed reading that tag and much as ive enjoyed writing it! i tag Familyhomeproject to give it a go!

MUA pro bro palette review!

I never used to do anything with my eyebrows other than wax or pluck them. I'm very dark haired and my brows are pretty much black so I never thought there was much point in filling them in.One day I let my friend have a play around with my brows and oh my god I've never looked back, drawing them in makes such a difference to your whole face!

To do my brows I use to mua pro brow palette. The palette contains two eyebrow shades, a wax, a highlighter, an eyebrow brush and tweezers. Everything you need to do your brows!

I love the darkest shade in palette it's a brilliant match for my dark brows. I couldn't find a dark enough match anywhere until I found this palette. I find the eyebrow powder applies easily and blends perfectly.

I don't tend to use to brush or tweezers in the kit if I'm honest as I have other ones I prefer but the ones provided are more than useable.

The setting wax is brilliant and keeps every hair in place. The only down side I found with this product was the highlighter. The shade is far to dark for me but I guess it's a given if you buy the darkest shade palette they will assume you have darker skin. Never the less I love this brow palette and just use a different highlighter.

Overall I really love this palette it has everything you need for your brows, down to a mirror so you can do them on the go. This product offers so much and retails at only £3.99 what more could you ask for?

Wedding OOTD

My perents best friends got married in Cyprus last month and they had a wedding party for those who didn't make it abroad. I thought you might like to see what I wore for there special day.

My dress is by lispy London and I purchased it from Next online. I love the collar as it looks like your wearing a statement necklace. I teamed my dress with traditional nude heels from Barratt and a clutch bag that I received at a gift.

The jewellery I wore with my dress were my pandora bracelet, rings and silver hoop earrings from peococks

I felt really lovely in this outfit. I will link my dress below http://m.next.co.uk/gl61160s14#l42429

Festival must haves!

When your off to a festival or camping you still want to look and feel at your best. It's hard to keep up with your skin care routine in a tent but there's plenty other alternatives. I'm gunna share with you a few products that will keep you feeling fresh and beautiful. I know myself if i don't feel nice I don't enjoy myself.

Baby wipes - I can't stress how useful they are! there Brilliant for removing makeup, having a quick wash or even to clean something up. There so inexpensive and so multi purpose.

Dry shampoo - as a women I know washing and drying your hair isn't the easiest of tasks especially if your camping. Dry shampoo is a lifesaver! Brilliant to freshen up your hair when you can't wash it as often as you would like.

Water proof Makeup - if your at a festival in the uk it's most likely to rain at some point and you don't want your mascara sliding down your face!

Bright makeup you forgot about - all those bright eyeshadows and lippy's your afraid to use everyday, get them out and experiment! Festivals are a perfect place to try out bright and colouring makeup looks. No one will bat an eye lid!

Spf/sun cream - there's nothing worst than getting burnt! So protect your skin and lips with plenty of sun screen. P20 is great as one application will keep you protected all day.

Medical bag - whenever I go away abroad or just away for the weekend in the uk I always chuck my medical bag in my case. My medical bag has many items in it such as  plasters, bite cream, paracetamol, Imodium, savalon and bonjela. I'm a rather have it and not need it kind of person.Trust me it comes in handy when someone has a cut or a headache.

YouTube!

Hi guys just a quick post! I've recently started a YouTube channel my username is Georgiarubyybeauty, please go check it out :) it's very similar to my blog all things beauty and fashion!

I'm a completely novice so be easy with me! Haha

Xoxo

Rimmel 25 hour lasting finish foundation Review

I'm really sorry I don't blog often enough! When working full time it's hard to find the time but I did manage to finish this post even if it meant typing it up on my lunch hour and finishing it at 6am the next day before work. Anyway I'm gunna get to it!

I've heard a lot of good things about Rimmel's 25 hour foundation and I had to give it a go. It's such a reasonable price at around £7.99. I thought for £7.99 surely it can't do everything it claims? But I was so wrong!

Rimmel 25 hour foundation is now my go to foundation, it has a very build able coverage so it's perfect for the daytime or the evening and it gives such a flawless finish. The foundation really does last ( maybe not 25 hours) but  It still looks pretty much the same when I take my makeup off at the end of the day, without topping it up at all.  There's also  a large colour range too which is great and there's even one that's light enough for my Casper like skin!

One slightly annoying thing is the packaging it's hard to get to the last bit of product out of the bottle. It's always gunna be a problem with a glass bottle. It  looks lovely don't get me wrong but when the pump stops working and you know there's foundation left, You will find yourself scrapping the bottle with a cotton bud or a makeup brush to attempt to get the last of it out.

Overall it's a great foundation. I really do enjoy using it and it's always great when products you love doesnt break the bank!

How to tame curly hair

I've got naturally curly hair and it took me years to find they right products to tame it. within minutes of straightening it would go flicky, frizzy and it drove me crazy! i'm sure many of you curly haired girls can relate! it got the point that i thought no serum or shampoo would make a difference then i discovered these products and tips.

i wash my hair with TRESemme keratin smooth 7 day smooth system shampoo and conditioner. they leave my hair feeling so silky smooth and really do make a difference when i dry and straighten my hair. I find them better than any salon brands ive used. Once ive towel dried my hair i brush it through and use Tresemme keratin smooth 7 day smooth system heat protection spray and run Elvive smooth intense serum through the ends of my hair.  I then proceed to blow dry and straighten my hair. i find these products teamed together gives me smooth and straight hair that lasts all day.

a few tips ive found that help to achieve a smooth and straight finish on my hair are

- use good quality straighteners such as GHD's they really make a difference
-  dry and straighten your hair in sections
- make sure your hair is completely dry before straightening to avoid frizz
- blowdry your hair as straight as possible so it makes the straightening less hard work.
- leave your hair natural now and again to keep your hair in good condition and to give it a rest.

everyone's hair is different and i can't guarantee these tips and products will work for you but they really helped me and i hope they will for you!

My Soap and Glory top 5 favourites

Soap and glory has been the one of my favourite brands for years and I've tried a fair share of there products. There's such a huge selection of there products these days it can be quite over welming to choose from, so I thought I would write this post and give you a heads up on which soap and glory products I like the most.

Peaches and clean face wash - I love this face wash it melts away all my makeup and leaves my face feeling so soft and clean. I find this face wash so moisturising unlike many face washes which have left my face feeling tight. The scent of peaches of clean is lovely so fresh and fruity. This face wash was part of my skin care routine for ages until quite recently and I would happily use it again I just fancied a change.

Sugar crush whipped body cream - this moisturiser is brilliant when your skin is feeling dehydrated it's so rich and moisturising, despite being a rich moisturiser it sinks it quite quickly and doesn't leave you sticky. The scent of sugar crush is quite unusual, it's citrusy and I personally think a bit like marmite you'll either love it or hate it. I personally love it, sweet scents are nice but I love refreshing sharper scents too. A little goes a long way with this moisturiser so even though it's a bit more expensive than your average body cream it really does last you.

Scrub your nose in it - when I have a pamper night I love a face mask or scrub and this is brilliant as its a two in one. It's great at reducing pores, blackheads and makes a noticeable difference after just one treatment. Overall brilliant scrub that does the job but isn't to harsh on the skin.

Hand food - in the winter I really suffer with dry cracked hands and find hand food is amazing at rescuing them. It's sinks it quickly which is brilliant for working hands and leaves them moisturised for hours. You can also purchase a travel sized version which is great for your handbag or to trial out.

Heel genius- when you get your sandals out and realise your feet need some tlc heel genius is the foot cream to go for. I tend to apply this in the evening, put cotton socks over the top and leave them until the morning then I wake up to soft supple feet. The scent of heel genius is minty and leaves your feet feeling lovely and fresh.

Soap and glory continue to bring out amazing products and I can't wait try out more!

Summer must haves!

It's getting towards the summer season in the uk that we've all been waiting for! As it gets sunnier and hotter I like to change up my beauty products a bit and I thought I'd share with you my must have products for the summer.

Foundation with spf - I'm rather pale, I  burn easily and I hate normal sun cream or my face it just makes my face feel greasy. Instead of cream I use Rimmel London's 25 hour foundation it gives an amazing Matt coverage, it's long lasting and protects your skin.

Vaseline - I know this is is a very basic product but the sun tends to dry out my lips and Vaseline really helps to restore the moisture they have lost.

Dove summer sun- when you get your dresses and shorts out the pasty legs have to go! Dove summer sun gives a lovely natural glow after a few applications. It's great because its buildable you could have a natural glow from 1 or 2 applications perhaps for an  event or you could apply daily religiously for a bronzed deeper tan.

well those are a few products that I find are must haves in the summer! What are yours?

Bargain beauty buys!

This post is going to be all about my favourite budget beauty buys, I'm always on the hunt for cheap hidden treasures! Why pay more than you have to?

The first product I've been loving is the simple's moisturising face wash, this face wash leaves my skin feeling moisturised, refreshed and removes even waterproof makeup .I love that simple products are so natural and not harsh on the skin. The simple face wash Retails at around £2 and is quite often on offer for cheaper! Such a bargain and really does what is saids on the tube!

The next budget product is MUA's setting powder, it only costs a pound and Since I've used it I've never had so many compliments on my makeup! It's sets my makeup beautifully and gives a flawless finish. It's honestly as good as the high end powders I've used!

I couldn't not mention my all time favourite concealer, collections lasting perfection concealer, it's amazing! It great for blemishes, dark circles and unlike many concealer it doesn't crease! It's better than many high end concealers I've tried and at around £3.99 it's a bargain!

The last product I'm going to mention is the dove intensive repair shampoo and conditioner. I have thick, dry and curly hair and I struggle to tame it! The dove shampoo and conditioner are amazing for the price, they leave my hair soft and fizz free! I couldn't recommend it more. They retail at around £1.99 each and are better than ones I've payed £10.00 for!

Those are a few of my favourites I didn't want to bore you with too many! But if you'd like to see another post like this comment below!

Contouring!

I'm Sorry I haven't posted in a while! It's been a busy start to the year.

Contouring is really in fashion at the moment and everyone is giving it a go so I thought I'd share with you my techniques and the products I use to contour.

Contouring does differ depends on your face shape. I have an oval face and I contour on my cheek bones to define and make my cheek bones appear higher. I highlight down the middle of nose and above my cheek bones which leaves my skin looking bright and healthy.

You can contour to alter the appeance of certain parts of your face such as your nose, chin or forehead. Having an oval face I personally don't tend to.

The brush I use to contour is the real techniques sculpting brush and to highlight I use the real techniques setting brush.

The products I use to contour are the sleek face contour kit in the shade light 884 and Revolution vivid baked highlighter in the shade golden lights.

I personally really enjoy contouring and its part of my everyday makeup routine but I understand it's not for everyone.

December favorites!

December is always a pretty busy month with Christmas and new years. I'm just so sad its all over now. December is by far my favorite month of the year. Here are the things I've been loving this month.

Daisy by Marc Jacob - I absolutely love this perfume the scent is devine, its very floral and feminine. i love the bottle almost as much as i love the perfume its so beautiful with the daisy's on the lid. I know it's really about whats inside but the bottle looks gorgeous on my dressing table. I really want to try more from the daisy range. There quite pricey but the scent is long lasting so the bottle goes a long way.

Soap and Glory's Whipped clean shower butter - this shower gel smells lovely, it has a sweet vanilla scent which is strong but not over powering. I've never used a shower cream that is so moisturizing. It leaves my skin like silk. If your in a rush and don't get time to moisturize the whipped clean shower butter is almost like a two in one but i wouldn't recommend skipping moisturizing daily. It retails at around £7.00 which i think is good value seeing the bottle is large and lasts twice as long as cheaper shower gels.

Nivea shaving balm - I'd heard lots of rumors about how the Nivea shaving balm makes a brilliant primer and i couldn't resist to give it a try. The Nivea shaving balm contains glicerine which helps your foundation adhere to your face, its found in most high end primers. I found it made my skin feel so soft and my makeup defiantly lasted longer. Nivea shaving balm retails at around £5.00, its such a bargain considering primers can cost £20.00 or more.

Now for a few random favorites

Paperchase - For Christmas i got a beautiful note book which i'm using to write my blog ideas and a inspirational postcard which is so cute. Paperchase sell beautiful stationary which make lovely gifts or can be a treat for yourself. I'm just sucker for pretty things haha. Paperchase can be quite pricey but the products are such good quality it's worth paying the bit extra.

Yankee candle in clean cotton - I'm a massive fan of Yankee candles and clean cotton has got to be my favorite scent it smells so clean and fresh. I rediscovered my love for it when i got it brought for me for my birthday. I try to buy different scents but i always come back to clean cotton. I've tried a range of candles and yankee candles are far the best. Again yankee can be expensive but there's often offers and sales where you can pick up a bargain.

well those were my favorites of December what were yours?
